Underneath the comedy is a real, cynical thesis (electoral success tracks charisma/dominance, anti-correlated with the qualities Scott values) and a genuine pragmatic endorsement (abundance/YIMBY Democrats should hitch to Newsom as others did to Trump; his venality will moderate him nationally).
